Welcome!

When this website was created as a gift from my husband-to-be, he must have thought that I have a lot of things to say to the world.

Two years later, this is my first post and it is daunting to think that my thoughts are seeping into the unattainable cloud of all things posted and written. Nonetheless, I do believe my thoughts should be slightly more entertaining than endless photos of sandwiches and less captivating than cute cat videos. It will take a little while to get everything up and running, but it will come.

Why have a website? Good question. I asked also and two years later, here’s AN answer…

This is going to be a space for me to share with you significant lessons from my travels such as my visit to former Japanese Internment Camp locations and historical exhibits in Western Canada, mini-pilgrimage through Luther sites in Germany, Auschwitz museum in Poland…

I hope to also share my thousands of photos of food pictures that I have gathered from being adventurous in trying new foods. Some may end up being some creations of our own with my 13-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son. My husband ends up helping out with some of the cooking as well, but mostly, he is the ultimate cleaner-upper.

Oh! There may be a few pictures of clouds floating around this website also…

Most importantly, this website begins a significant part of my journey in completing my doctoral studies at Saint Paul University in Ottawa. For my comprehensive exams and research thesis project, I will be posting my reflections on my readings, books that I have found, writings and articles that have come across my search, and my hope is that the website will serve as a collaborative space you to leave your comments and thoughts to my posts. My hope is that you will help contribute to the relevance of my research project in the context of our Lutheran tradition as well as the wider church. More about the project themes will come soon and I look forward to hearing from you.

For those in the Ottawa Ministry Area and in various ecumenical networks, if you would like to meet with me (in-person, via Zoom, or phone), feel free to request a meeting at the top of this page. I am happy to connect with you.

*taking a deep breath*

Okay, I am ready! Let’s get started!
